I was so excited when Hayley and Jon, contacted me to do a newborn shoot for them. I had photographed them last fall when Hayley and just found out she was pregnant.

Lexi was born on July 8th, but was having a few issues breathing and had to stay in NICU for a few days. She was finally brought home, and we had our at-home newborn session at 10 Days olds!

Lexi’s mom and I had chatted before, and she wanted a mix of both posed portraits with the backdrops and some more ‘lifestyle’ portraits.

 We had all these really great ideas for our indoor portrait session, the only issue was Lexi didn’t want to cooperate. She was awake for 3 and a half hours!

 We did get a couple really cute photos of her in the little giraffe outfit her mom bought, and with all the special books that were given to her.

At the end of 4 hours, we were all exhausted, but I was unhappy that we didn’t get all the shots that we wanted to get. There weren’t even any photos of Dad holding Lexi!

So decided I was going to come back that weekend and try again.

This time Lexi was much more cooperative, and we got some truly amazing outdoor evening shots in the family’s backyard. The dogs, Luna and Safari, even got to be involved.
